Felt like doing an art summary of my character art from the last year. I feel like I’ve improved a lot! Especially comparing my March portrait (which I was incredibly proud of) to my November and December portraits. #characterart #dndart #artsummary

I see people posting for #PortfolioDay ! So here's a little showcase of my various work. It's so hard to choose what to share... My traditional work is mostly using bright colours and textures to feature animals and landscapes. My digital work tends to be character-focused, lots of OCs and DND.

Leaf 🌿@leaves-and-inks.bsky.social · 2y ago

howdy #PortfolioDay !! I'm Leaf, a graphic design student/artist. I love drawing things from nature, characters, and fantasy!! I hope you enjoy my work!! :D 🌿

Digital illustration of a pinkish coyote on a textured purple/blue gradient square, on top of a cream paper background. The coyote twists in an unnatural way, its limbs in different directions. Its head is thrown back to almost be resting on its back, which it's raised at the read haunches. it’s tail is slightly longer than a real coyote’s and bent at several angles. Its mouth is open in a somewhat blank, aghast expression. it’s yellow eye is larger than average and wide open. the line art is scratchy and in various purple, except for the mouth which is in various shades of pink. The fur is textured and messy, and follows the same patterns of a coyote’s coat in a pink/purple color pallette. There is a cream outline around the coyote that matches the background and also cuts into overlapping elements, such as the back limbs or the head. The cream background has a paper texture that overlaps the rest of the image, In the bottom right is a watermark that reads “LEAVES AND INKS” handwritten inside an oak leaf shape.

digital painting of two crows in a forest, the forest abstracted to a green rectangle behind the scene with intermittent tree trunks that fade into the background. One crow is on a log, looking proud and holding a wicker basket full of mushrooms in its beak. The other crow is on the forest floor below, its wings outstretched and head pointed down as if it were bowing. It holds two mushrooms in its beak. Various yellow mushrooms surround the crows, most growing on the ground but some growing on the log. The ground itself is littered in brightly colored leaves. Ferns grow both around the crow on the ground, and in front of and behind the log. The white background has an aged yellow effect and a paper texture. on the bottom right of the page is the signature that reads: “leaves-and-inks”.

Digital Illustration a green tiefling with green horns, dark green, shoulder-length hair blown over their right shoulder. Their right arm covers their chest, hand balled into a fist. She has a somewhat worried expression, mouth slightly open with one fang caught on their bottom lip. Her horns are medium size, coming straight up off her forehead before bending back and slightly to the sides. Their eyes have black scleras and bright green irises. She also has several gold piercings; a septum piercing, a few rings on the ends of her downturned, pointy ears, and a branch-like earring on her lobe. Her eyes and nose are both downturned, her nose having a curved bridge. The tiefling has a faint, vine-like tattoo on her neck, along her jaw line, under her eyes, and wrapping around both arms. Leaves branch out periodically from the core vine part of the tattoo. Her dark green hair is layered, and fades out to a yellow-green at its ends. Her light green skin also has a faint pink blush around their cheeks and nose. Her shoulder spikes gather mostly at the top and sides of her upper arm, with two, wider plates transitioning from the shoulder to the arm. The background is blue-green, and has trees framing the tiefling. The rest of the background around the edges is a light green. In the bottom right corner is an oak leaf watermark with text inside reading “LEAVES AND INKS”.

digital illustration of disembodied vampire teeth on a black background framed by a cream border in similar proportion to a Polaroid photo. The teeth are drawn scratchy borders and shading, and are opened wide and toward the viewer. Most teeth, save for some of the back molars, are depicted. The two outermost incisors on the upper and lower sets have a a point coming up at their farthest ends. The canines are long and needle-like to an exaggerated degree. The bottom canines are pointed in a similar way, but are not as long. Behind the fangs is a red, splatter-like glow. The overall has a strong amount of texture, being layered and scratchy with grain. Underneath the black box the teeth reside in is the text “.07 October” on the left and “the danse macabre” on the right. In between are faded red streaks dripping down from behind the black background.

Hi Bluesky! This is a proper intro post as I haven’t done one yet. My name’s Sage, I’m a Canadian artist and I run an online shop called Embersnail! Here are some of my favourite things I’ve made :) #art #artist #animalart #artshop

Sage @embersnail.bsky.social · 2y ago

yeah-- people expecting me to abandon the only websites where i've been able to build a platform for my projects is ridiculous. I have no idea how I'm supposed to build up an audience on these new sites.

Yes it’s time to start working towards leaving Meta. Yes it is not a business as usual situation. But please bear in mind you are scolding millions of artists, writers, musicians, creators, many of them queer, into boycotting their storefront overnight - with no viable alternative.

The most popular item I have are my Cryptid Cards!! 18 art based trading cards ft silly cryptids - this set is N. American themed but I’d love to expand to other continents in future sets as my comic goes along 👣🌎💌 rachelhendel.com/store #artshop #mothman #bigfoot #webcomic #cryptidworldtour

Cards from the Cryptid Card deck lay across a wooden table. A full set in its package is propped up next to the two sticker options, one of Mothman and one of Bigfoot. Text at the top reads “Full Set, + free sticker”.

Text at the top reads “Blind Bag!”. At the bottom it says “3 cards”. A blind bag Cryptid Card package sits on a wooden table, below it are three sample cards - Mothman, Dover Demon, and Igopogo. There is string and small star beads laying around the cards as decoration.

The way I’m finally getting to the point where I’m able to sell my work and create meaningful art at the worst time on the internet to promote art. Twitter is dead, Instagram tags are broken, Tiktok just fucking sucks in general… Feels a little hopeless
