A paramilitary group plotted to overthrow the Constitution then conducted a violent attack on America. They were convicted in court of seditious conspiracy, and jailed. Then the leader they aimed to illegally install got power and let them out, their records wiped clean. The Jan. 6 attackers won.

Judge Pained as He Grants Dismissal of Jan. 6 Charges Against Oath Keepers

The judge, Amit P. Mehta, blasted the administration’s request for a dismissal in the case, saying it bestowed “unearned grace” on the Oath Keepers defendants “by wiping their records clean.”

2026 is officially the worst year for U.S. measles since 1991, and the 2,318 confirmed cases are a massive undercount. This is the deadly reality of anti-science rhetoric. "Not vaccinating your kid is like saying, ‘I don’t want my car to have brakes.’"

There are already more U.S. measles cases this year than in all of 2025

The number of measles cases in the U.S. has surpassed the record-breaking tally for all of 2025, with five more months of 2026 still to come.

Trump warned in June that the U.S. would "run out of reserves in about four weeks" if the Iran war continued. Every other day, he escalates then changes his mind... he's driving us straight toward a global financial shock. Total incompetence. www.theatlantic.com/internationa...

The Ticking Clock on the Strait of Hormuz

Trump said it himself in June—military force won’t open the waterway, and energy reserves are quickly winding down.

60% of rural counties already lack hospital-based obstetric care. Trump's H-1B visa hikes and looming OBBBA Medicaid cuts will force even more rural hospitals to close. These federal policies are actively putting rural women in fatal danger. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Rural America’s Maternal-Health Crisis Is About to Get Much Worse

Care will be in shorter supply, travel distances will stretch farther, and high-risk situations will more likely result in tragedy.

The terrorist attack at Berlin Pride shows exactly where dehumanization leads. From that tragedy to massacres like Pulse and Club Q, extremism thrives on intolerance. When Republicans weaponize anti-trans hate, they are actively stoking bloodshed. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/w...

Even Before Attack, Berlin’s Gay Community Felt ‘More and More Unsafe’ (Gift Article)

The killing of a woman in what officials called an act of Islamist terrorism rattled a community that has seen a surge in threats, including from the far right.

So Energy Sec. Wright previously claiming that "no decisions were made on politics" means that he lied to Congress. The admin admitted weaponizing $7.5B in federal aid specifically to punish states that voted for Kamala. Corrupt, authoritarian retaliation. And un-American.

Trump Administration Admits Canceling Grants to States That Did Not Vote for Him www.nytimes.com/2026/07/24/b... Let’s try to make this as big a story as possible Please share

For 5 months, the administration has fed the public outright lies about a war we are losing in Iran. The president claims he "obliterated" their military, yet the Pentagon hides from the press while U.S. troops rapidly run out of munitions. We demand the truth. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

The American People Need the Truth About the Iran War

The president and the Pentagon are not being up front about what has happened in more than 20 weeks of hostilities.

👋 Scientist and science communication professional here Communications around the diarrhea outbreak caused by the cyclospora parasite has been confusing, and social media has been awash with misinformation. Here’s what you need to know:

Dismissing public resistance to outbreak containment as mere ignorance misses the mark entirely. As Sheri Fink notes, "unrest during epidemics is not about Ebola, Africa or education." It is a systemic issue societies have struggled with for centuries across the globe. 1/2

NYT Article: Why Epidemics Breed Rage at Health Workers

Some people have fought Ebola containment measures in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Scholars have seen similar responses across societies and throughout history.

The math speaks for itself: in the 250 years since America’s founding, all of the nation’s wars combined have claimed just over 1.3 million lives. "From 2020 to 2026, Covid-19 took over 1.2 million." Despite those numbers, the government is currently dismantling our defenses...

STAT News article: It’s time to treat pandemics as threats to national security

A national security mindset can help prevent and minimize the damage of future pandemics

You're kidding. You mean cutting funding, firing experts, installing unqualified political hacks, and hollowing out federal agencies leads to massive public health screw-ups? The FDA just admitted their major cyclospora warning for Taylor Farms was a false positive...

Taylor Farms is a major contributing donor to Donald Trump. 🤔 FDA recants and apologizes to Taylor Farms. Let that sink in. wlwt.com/article/fda-...

This 👇💯 Trump is literally playing into the hands of our adversaries by trying to undermine public confidence in our elections. He organized this speech to lie to the world that our elections aren't secure. It's a psychological trick he's trying because he's worried about the midterms.

Brennan Center@brennancenter.org · 3w ago

President Trump has no legal authority over elections and is running out of plays, so he has resorted to rehashing old tropes and nothingburgers. The only way his administration's campaign to undermine our elections works is if voters stay home this fall.

'Activists' - really? Activists are for actual causes or issues. Extremists, liars, maybe even conspiracy theorists but don't legitimize them. The media unintentionally (or intentionally?) doing this is almost as dangerous as all the liars Trump will spew tonight. 1/2

BREAKING MS NOW: The Trump White House hosted about two dozen election denial activists this week ahead of Trump's address where he's expected to spread election lies. The session was convened by conservative lawyer Cleta Mitchell — who advised Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 result.

"No other president has such a disparity in denials between states that supported him politically and those that did not." A new @apnews.com analysis shows Trump is taking longer to approve major disaster declarations than any admin since 1989, and selectively punishing blue states in the process.

Trump is taking longer to approve disaster aid and denying Democratic states more frequently

Americans are waiting longer for disaster aid under President Donald Trump, with delays often lasting weeks or months.
