I'm not going to engage with sealioning. Let's get back to the matter at hand with a little history lesson: World Pride is a periodic/semi-annual event organized by Texas-based non-profit InterPride. Since 2000, it has been held in 10 cities across the world with varying success. 1/

I spoke to @novaramedia this week about the EHRC's new Code of Practice which has now come into effect. We're seeing trans people's place in society continually questioned by those in positions of power and this code of practice will only increase gender policing. [1/2]

I have known cases where people failed and were never told why. I have never known a case where someone failed and this was overruled.

So the line is that there was a massive conspiracy within the civil service to secretly & inappropriately enable the political appointment of a guy who was best mates with, politically aligned with, and originally appointed by, our political leaders, but none of our political leaders knew about it.

NEW: Yvette Cooper only became aware that Peter Mandelson had failed security vetting when approached by Guardian on Thursday, I’m told. Foreign sec then spent evening in FCDO and Downing Street with the PM where she spoke to Sir Olly Robbins. They concluded he could no longer continue in post.

If nothing bad that happens was Keir's responsibility, then nothing good that happens was his responsibility either. Either you are in charge and making the decisions or you aren't. You can't have it both ways.

Last night the Hungarian election was described as a knife’s edge. Tonight, the former opposition has secured a supermajority. Authoritarians like Keir Starmer should be wary. As I’ve said before the Greens will swiftly become the only natural party of government.

😆 Trump what are you doing. This farce is serious - thousands will die in Lebanon, in Iran, in Israel & other areas if this continues. Energy prices will rise for all of us, ruining the quality of life for all around the world. But it is also so laughably absurd. This was entirely avoidable.
