Today is my last day @timesunion.com. I've been at Hearst Newspapers for almost 10 years and the TU for the last half dozen, so it's incredibly bittersweet to say goodbye. I've learned so much from all my colleagues and editors. I'm proud of the journalism we did together.

More 501(c)(3) nonprofits making illegal contributions are located in Brooklyn than anywhere else in NY, although Manhattan has 40,000 more registered nonprofits than Brooklyn. I found more than a dozen cases of them making endorsements, promoting election fundraisers and displaying campaign signs
