Dawn of what might be the worst day of our lives, not sure yet. Waiting this last 20 or so minutes for the vet to open to call and see if they'll see Mew or if we need to drive farther to the same emergency vet we went to yesterday morning. I can't put my thoughts into words. I'm so worried.

A smoky sunrise between my neighbor's pine trees taken at a low angle to let the tops of the long grass mingle with the sun.

Finally had my partner watch Obsession, and he hated it like he had expected he would. He said it was a 'vehicle for bad feels.' So it was the correct decision to see Backrooms in the theater with him and Obsession at home. I think I liked it better on second viewing, picked up more context.

Primitive War and Jurassic Park crossover tribute to Sir Sam Neill with the Father T. rex and Dr. Alan Grant. This is the first but not the last tribute I'll be painting this month to this amazing actor, farmer, and human in general.

Speedpaint request reward tribute depicting Dr. Alan Grant giving the Primitive War Father T. rex face rubs like Sam Neill would with his pet birds, some of which are in the background with his farm painterly implied as the background. Painted by hand in Procreate for iPad using an apple pencil. Requested by Ethan Pettus as a tribute to Alan Grant, a reluctant father figure to all of us dinosaur fans.

I'll have new art to post soon, but in the meantime here's some art from last year. If the river scene was included in the original Jurassic Park movie, featuring a sleeping Rexy near the dock.

Quick digital speedpaint depicting a 'what if' scenario where the river scene is included in the first Jurassic Park movie with Rexy the Tyrannosaurus sleeping in the foreground while Alan Grant and the kids stumble upon her in the background.

I told my partner I was sad about the non-avian dinosaurs dying because I'd just watched that episode of Surviving Earth, and he told me to just go look at our pet turkey. He said, "go look at Linda. Look at her dinosaur legs. That will cheer you up." Anyway here she is having a dust bath today.

Bourbon red turkey hen scratching at dirt surrounded by weeds. The top right has a hint of the sprinkler that caused the dirt to be damp enough for her to enjoy her dust bath so thoroughly. She has her feathers spread and exposing some of her skin on her torso.

Thinking about taking a trip in October to see my family for the first time in 3 years, but I'm afraid they're going to be busy with the divorce and unrelated court stuff. It would make my trip 3 times as expensive, but maybe I could rent a car and stay in a motel so I can be less in the way. Hmm.
