She/Her A queer, ambiamorous, suspected neurodivergent, and chronically ill woman ✨️ Online Integrative Therapist in UK I work with identity e.g. sexuality, gender, neurodivergence, chronic illness, and mental health 💚 www.emilyduffytherapy.co.uk

The doctor who claimed that vaccines cause autism lost his medical license for faking for the study. But his lies and the damage he did to public health persist long after his paper was pulled. This is why science communication is so difficult; all it takes is one grifter.

Ambiamory is the ability to be content in either monogamous or non-monogamous relationships. How I would describe it is: Non-monogamy is wanting and desiring romantic and/or sexual relationships with multiple people at the same time........

What's a way chronic illness has impacted you that you weren't expecting? Mine is singing! If my fibro is flared, even slightly, my throat and lungs just don't work the same, so songs I can sing with ease on my good days become a challenge with a wobbly voice and bad breathing 🙃

Feeling the grief waves today..... So why I'm choosing to play a game about the after life is beyond me 😅 But I'm taking it slow. Doing gardening. Playing games. Chilling with my other dog. Drinking tea out my fave mug. Restoring my soul a little bit ✨️ How're you looking after you today? 💚

A photo of someone's living room. In the forefront us a grey xbox controller resting on a teal cushion. It is slightly blurred.

The focus is on the TV in the background. It is standing on a wooden tv cabinet. On the TV screen is the title screen for a game called spiritfarer

I was weirdly thinking about how I haven't done any content around non-monogamy in a while and started to write this only to realise it's #nonmonogamyweek this week!! This post looks at compersion, the trap in non-monogamous relationships, how to get out of the trap and then further resources.

The Compersion Trap in Non-Monogamy

Compersion is sometimes called the opposite of jealousy in the non-monogamy world. Essentially it is feeling happy for someone else's happiness. But in non-monogamy there can feel like a pressure to f...

It's disability pride month 💚 Disability isn't a slur or a bad word and yet growing up it always felt like it! There was an element of not to look or talk about disability, like it was taboo or lesser than. The kind of out of sight out of mind mentality.

You already exist and you matter 💚 Yes, it can be comforting and reassuring to jave validation from external sources. You don't need to stop accepting or that in. But you are valid regardless of that! You don't need that external validation in order for it to be valid. Be you 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
