I have no idea what’s going to happen next. That uncertainty turns out to be more useful than clarity. Read my latest Substack here: https://f.mtr.cool/hasinatpch
Wow - curiously proud of this! I know I sent a lot of audio files this year but....Jeez!
I love watching the skies over Manchester changing across the day from my loft hidey-hole. I can just about see the hills on a clear day...but not today. The perfect kind of day for scoping out a new piece of music about apocalypse messaging!

Vimto with Bacardi and a splash of lemon juice smells EXACTLY like Bailey’s. That’s all I’ve got to offer.
Excited to share Virtually Me — my new book with Bosky Publishing! It's now available for Pre-Order. It helps tweens and teens explore mindful digital life through fun, creative prompts + real-world questions about tech, social media + AI. 📘✨ I *loved* writing it!
It's International Podcast Day! What better time to celebrate with my pods - interviews, comedy, stories and more! Before The Bar Opens, Clearing The Air, Dodgy Voiceover Direction, The Title Track, When We Got To The Seventh, and Who Do You Think I Am? 🎧 https://f.mtr.cool/qbthjinnxp
I have to say, I'm weary of The Algorithm. I'm seeing lots of stuff about crafting social media updates that will please The Algorithm with the hope it might reward us with visibility. Honestly, I just want to do my work and share bits of it along the way in a way that reflects who I am.
A different kind of day today. I'm in Manchester City Centre working in a converted mill. Such a beautiful space.
It's a mixed bag today in the studio at Clarke Gables! I'm kicking off this morning with character voices for a much-loved children's animation title (will tell you all about it when I can), and this afternoon I'm voicing ads for a luxury vehicle manufacturer. Va-va-vrooom!
Well this is novel isn't it? I don't have to be in bed at 8 o'clock to get up at 3.30 am to do a Saturday Breakfast show! So I'm going to have a massive takeaway...then I'm going to watch a film. Tomorrow, I'll be up at a normal time to clean my house...while listening to Radio 3!
Had my PhD review today at @rncmlive.bsky.social! I'm now past the halfway point! Trying to savour every moment. Doing my PhD is such a precious, wonderful experience.
Today I'm working at RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music on a project with National Trust. I've composed some music for an immersive visitor experience for a historic property.
A beautiful send-off from the BBC Radio 3 team! Yesterday was my last day on Saturday Breakfast. Thank you, team. ❤️

Big week ahead: starting a music project for a historic property 🎶, finalising a Christmas campaign with a playful character voice 🎄, and my first PhD supervision of the year 🎓. Plus a little announcement at the end of the week. Lots to look forward to! 📸 a Manchester mural 🐝
Just recorded some Hallowe'en promos for The Walt Disney Company - genuinely scary!
