In #mathstoday we worked out how many fish we could fit in the room. 54000 if you're interested. Not sure how we'd get them, how we'd get them in, and what the smell would be like in 30 degree heat, but yeah, 54000.
Good to know that ePen STILL has this bug when backreading our examiners after how many years now?
Anyone do NCFE Functional Skills Level ONE maths & have a copy of the new style sample paper? I have the practice paper. NCFE have said "yeah sorry you can't get it, maybe try googling?"🤦 How are my students meant to practice if they can't see the new style papers?! It's nowhere online. Reposts plz!
@1stclassmaths.bsky.social I think the expression is that she's got it going on. (I love your questions - thank you for keeping the millennials entertained)
Anyone experienced in current OCR GCSE maths? Iteration. Don't need to rearrange equations to make an iterative formula. Do have to use sign change/trial and error methods to find solutions. Do need to understand iterative notation. Don't need to solve using an iterative formula? Is that right?
Top tip: make the news more palatable by singing the name Netanyahu-hu to the tune of the Dominos advert.
youtu.be/uhy9DEqMgMw?... TTR's interview with Michael Gove. Not entirely sure how Liz Webb kept her composure during the discussion about the narrowing of the English curriculum and the response regarding the late Ruth Perry. @ttradioofficial.bsky.social
Does anyone know of a student friendly resource that goes through how to use a Casio calculator (83 or 85 or possibly 991?) Not just the basics - I mean the table and ratio tools, prime factor decomposition, using the hours/minutes/seconds button. Solving equations. You know, the sneakier stuff.

Obsessing over individual players and political chaos leaves less time to focus on the misogyny. And that’s for the best, isn’t it guys, says Guardian columnist Marina Hyde

My husband, 11 year old daughter and I have 4 hours to kill in London on Friday afternoon. Can anyone recommend anywhere cheap, indoors and not too far from Kings Cross/Aldgate area (so NE preferably)?

Maths people! This is on my daughter's homework. How many pairs of perpendicular lines are there in this image? I hate it. Now you have to see it too. Sorry if I ruined your Sunday. I still don't know what answer it expects after inputting 4 "incorrect" answers. Help appreciated 😂
