Wouldn't it be cool if digitised sponge collections like this could include in-situ, freshly collected and spicule images! The world needs more taxonomists!!

The soft coral garden at Funk island Deep Marine refuge - these were the first videos we captured in June 2024, I've been back twice to map more and it's much bigger than we first estimated! #Newfoundland is beautiful both above and below the ocean 🌊
