East Libyan officials brag of deporting 100,000+ people under racist laws targeting Sudanese, Eritrean, Ethiopian and Somali nationals. Yet the EU seeks deeper cooperation, fully aware of these abuses. The money & recognition will fuel these abuses.

Eastern Libyan authorities claim they have deported more than 100,000 irregular migrants

The eastern Libyan authorities, based in Benghazi, say they have now deported more than 117,000 irregular migrants of va

Interceptions in Eastern Libya are rising and funded by the EU. Rumors say those intercepted are forced into conscription for genocidal RSF militias in Sudan. Whether in the EU or Libya, racial capitalism is the root cause. https://migration-control.info/en/blog/haftars-libya-as-an-eu-proxy/

The ICC confirmed all 17 charges against El-Hishri today. The case is going to trial! El-Hishri was a senior member of the Libyan militia SDF/RADA & headed parts of Mitiga Prison in Tripoli – where people on the move are subjected to murder, torture & sexual violence.

Fortress Europe, proud yet? East Libya is now exposed to what Western Libya has endured for years: interceptions and deaths mounting up. One boat was stranded 14 days at sea & on Tuesday, 50 people could have died in one incident. The EU ♥️ violence & copies it's playbook east 👇

More than 230 people. At least 7 boats. 48 hours. That's how many were dragged back to Libya this weekend alone – 4 boats intercepted from Sirte, 3 from Tobruk. Back to detention, back to violence and extortion. This is what EU-funded "migration management" looks like.

We have now disembarked safely after rescuing 52 people. Italy forced survivors to endure a four-day journey to Marina di Carrara: this endangers our guests and means four days without rescues. This cruel policy must stop! Our guests' determination serves as an inspiration to us.

Wake up: Frontex actively OBSTRUCTS rescue operations. On June 25th, our ship Aurora responded to a mayday relay call. But the Frontex aircraft repeatedly ignored us. Why? Because Frontex didn’t want a rescue. It wanted an interception by Libyan militias.

Sea-Watch 5 is back at sea after the attack by Libyan militias in May. It's already rescued 52 people: 40 yesterday, 12 today – a pregnant woman needs urgent medical care. On average, 8 people die in the Mediterranean per day. Instead of organizing rescue, Italy keeps us away:

Another handshake in Benghazi: Italy’s foreign intelligence chief Caravelli meets Saddam Haftar to expand cooperation, while people keep drowning trying to escape Libya. Italy and the EU keep outsourcing border violence to third states - and their criminals.

🔴 Sea-Watch 5 is back in action: On July 3, our Sea-Watch 5 set sail again in the central Mediterranean for the first time since being fired upon in May. We have also filed an urgent appeal in Berlin: The government must protect Sea-Watch 5.

No matter what you believe, or if you believe at all, one truth remains: allowing people to drown is a betrayal of everything we hold sacred. With the Pope visiting Lampedusa today, our so-called Christian-democratic governments should take note: confess and find your way back to grace.

“Everyone has the right to seek a better life.” Migration is not the challenge of our time. Extreme inequality is. Fortress Europe turns race and class injustice into border policy. But human rights must apply to everyone regardless of passport, income or place of birth.

Threat of Criminalisation Again Hangs Over Humanitarian Rescue Operations

For now, the captain of the Sea-Watch 5 has been allowed to leave Italy and return home to the Netherlands.

UPDATE: The Italian Coast Guard has crossed into Malta's search and rescue zone to do the job Malta refused to do. 59 people are safe now, but let's be clear: no one should have to beg Malta for a rescue because THAT is Malta's legal responsibility.

🔴 Would Malta leave 35 wealthy European tourists waiting in a sinking boat? Right now, our aircraft Seabird 1 is circling a rubber boat in distress in Maltese search and RESCUE waters. Retweet to force accountability. Rescue them now!

We all deserve safety and dignity. But powerful politicians use migrants as scapegoats to divide us while paying Libyan warlords thousands of euros to cage, torture & abduct refugees out of sight. When they attack the most vulnerable, none of us are safe. Demand accountability.

Libya/EU: Rival authorities intensify xenophobic and racist crackdown on refugees and migrants in Libya as EU seeks to deepen ties

After our Seabird spotted ~42 people on a rubber boat in distress, Libyan militias abducted them all to Libya. In fear of their life, 20 people who were in the water tried to get away from the militias and chose the risk of death over the prospect of being returned to Libya.

🚨People in the water!! Our aircraft, Seabird 1, saw ~40 people on a rubber boat in mortal danger. The notorious Libyan militia vessels Ras Jadir & Houn are on scene. All this in an area Malta is supposed to rescue. We don't know if someone drowned. Our ship Aurora is on her way.

Unhappy birthday to a shady EU-Tunisia deal. 2 years ago, the EU started paying Tunisian forces to intercept & abduct people at sea. These waters used to be Malta's responsibility, but neither Malta🇲🇹 nor the EU values human life enough to act like it. So they changed the rules ⬇️

While the EU was asleep, our Aurora 2 rescued 40 people from a rubber boat in distress. All guests are now on board and on their way to the port of Lampedusa. Every hour at sea matters - close ports of safety save lives.

The Meloni government is sending 22 officers from the financial and border police to Tunisia to train a border unit that organizes human trafficking. Officially, this is framed as “sea rescue," but the reality has absolutely nothing to do with rescue: 👇

76 guests – not 71 as we initially counted – just disembarked safely in Sicily. We wish them resilience in fighting the obstacles Fortress Europe puts in their way. Tomorrow, the EU enforces its crackdown on asylum rights but we keep resisting together! Solidarity wins!

1:0 for our NEW fast boat Aurora2! Last night, our crew rescued 71 people in distress. Now, all guests are on their way to Pozzallo, Sicily. We applaud their courage & send strength for the road ahead. This is our boat's first win against Fortress Europe, with many more to come!
