🚨BREAKING🚨 9 Pennsylvanians arrested at the State Capitol demanding passage of anti-corruption legislation Among these democracy warriors were students, retirees, union workers and clergy. People are fed up with a gov't not responsive to the PEOPLE! COMMENT ⏬ to help PA pass a GIFT BAN!

Pennsylvania, we can STOP huge corporations from political spending in our state! What can YOU do? Call House Leader Matt Bradford, and tell him to pass this bill (HB497)! The bill passed out of there last session, so there's no reason why it shouldn't this year! His number: 610-270-1150 📞

Rank the Wings in Mechanicsburg was a success! Our current system lets candidates win with less than 50% of the vote. RCV lets voters rank candidates and ensures the winner has majority support. Come to our next "Rank the ___" event to learn more about the benefits of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).

In PA, our legislators, despite being paid $113,000 or more to represent us full time, can hold side jobs in other industries that can have conflicts of interest with their committee assignments where they choose which laws get passed or get tossed. Does this sound like a good idea?

Pennsylvanians are tired of the pay to play in Harrisburg. Lawmakers get wined and dined by lobbyists while we can barely make ends meet. This is DISRESPECTFUL to hardworking Pennsylvanians. Call our leaders and tell them they need to pass a Gift Ban and clean up corruption in their chambers.

Not only has unlimited campaign spending upended our democracy, it's unleashed widespread disbelief in our ability to reclaim it. To reverse this (justified) cynicism, we MUST abolish super PACs, finally curtailing the takeover of our elections by corporations & the ultra-rich. @lessig.bsky.social

BIG NEWS! In Pennsylvania, our movement for Ranked Choice Voting has taken a major step forward: House Bill 123 has been introduced in the PA House! This bill will allow local communities to decide if they want to use RCV. Tell your state rep and senator to vote YES on Ranked Choice Voting!

Ranked Choice Voting allows voters to have their say without elaborate head games over “wasting” their vote. Let's make a system that works for the majority instead of allowing extreme candidates through with plurality votes. #RCV

Opinion | Ranked-choice voting worked in New York. It could also fix the presidential primary chaos.

Ryan Teague Beckwith: Presidential primary fields eventually have to be winnowed. Ranked-choice voting would solve two big problems facing Democrats.

When we have a state legislature that can legally take bribes from corporate lobbyists, we wind up with a system that works for those with $$ and not for the working class. Our democracy should not be pay to play.

ALICE households are those with income levels above the Federal Poverty Level but not enough to afford basic expenses where they live. 40% of households in PA were below the ALICE threshold in 2023.
