Keeping public lands in public hands. Working toward a clean, affordable, American-made future. Led by Ranking Member Senator Martin Heinrich.

Every day the Iran war drags on, Americans pay the price. Donald Trump has little incentive to end it when his billionaire friends keep getting richer while working people struggle to fill their tanks and pay for the basics.

Soaring prices for oil and gas, triggered by the war in Iran, are driving a surge in corporate profits for multinational energy companies, with Shell reporting a $9.8 billion windfall between April and June.

President Trump delayed programs to fight wildfires and pushed out thousands of USFS employees to be more “efficient. Now Superior National Forest is facing the deadly consequences of those decisions. There’s nothing efficient about that.

The Grand Staircase transcends time and connects 150 miles of cliffs from the Grand Canyon to Bryce Canyon. Trump left it out of his re-drawn Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Stealing from our shared heritage, and the legacy we will leave future generations.

Effective wildfire management requires targeted, science-based treatments. Instead, the Trump administration is advancing an “emergency” massive logging proposal with little transparency and almost no public input — putting industry profits ahead of your public lands.

Today’s executive action is another chapter in Trump’s War on the West. Bears Ears and Grand Staircase belong to the American people, not billionaires looking to profit off public lands. It's a slap in the face to Tribes, local communities, & future generations. Now is the time to raise your voice.

We are losing experienced firefighters and asking the ones who are left to do more with less. The Trump administration’s policies are not only demoralizing firefighters, they’re endangering those on the frontlines and the communities they’re dedicated to protecting.

Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and colleagues of the firefighters killed battling wildfires in Colorado, and with those injured. America's wildland firefighters risk their lives to keep our communities safe. We're grateful for their service and sacrifice.

BREAKING: The three federal firefighters who died when overtaken by flames while battling a rapidly growing wildfire in western Colorado were identified today by the U.S. Forest Service.

Trump promised a $1.8 million Reflecting Pool renovation. Instead, taxpayers are on the hook for more than $16 million for a failed project that isn’t even finished. We're demanding answers from Secretary Burgum.

Trump says he "loves" inflation. We can tell. Since he took office, people in Hawaii are paying $872 MORE for housing, $310 MORE for groceries, and $263 MORE for gas. $4,100 MORE because Trump prioritizes anything but lowering costs for Americans.

Sen. Padilla: Right at the deadline, the Republican majority filed an amendment to the previously bipartisan wildfire bill to codify the repeal of the roadless rule. The last-minute move destroys bipartisan opportunity for compromise.
