Been working on some grungy level design lately. Enjoying making things and then breaking them to pieces for that urban exploration feel. #screenshotsaturday

Scaling all jumps with agility was making it tough to control, so I added the ability to change your hang-time based on how long you hold the jump button.
The first level of my next project is shaping up to be my most intricate yet. Tons of alternate paths, secret areas, and of course vents to crawl through. #screenshotsaturday
Good time to mention I went down the rabbit hole of this trend a while back. Still one of my biggest videos to date. Worth the watch! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbbY...

Been cooking up some new & improved ladder code lately. Free-look, simple controls, can use weapons while climbing, can grab on or jump off at any point. Little things you'd take for granted in many games.
Working on some item placement code+shaders to make it clear to the player what's missing.
I played Fallen Aces Episode 2 and I'm here to tell you it was absolutely worth the wait. I have many more thoughts about it, so I made a little video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjX8...
You Should Really Play Fallen Aces Episode 2

Made these retractable girders to setup for a missile launch sequence I've been working on. But they aren't just for show. They open up some interesting traversal options too.
Fallen Aces Episode 2 has a suburban Halloween level that feels like an old HL1 custom map. Incredible vibes.
Made the first level of my next project way too large so I've just been making props for ages at this point. On the plus side, now there's a ton of things to scoop up and sell when you're back at camp. #screenshotsaturday
Had to redo a lot of my animations to support 2-handed weapons. But on the plus side, now I get to do stuff like this. #screenshotsaturday
Been improving some door code lately. Multiple varieties, keys, lockpicking, dual-sided opening, physics interactions, and lots more stuff most people will never notice. #screenshotsaturday
Thanks to Next Fest (and some scattered demos), I played a ton of upcoming games recently. I decided to cover a few of the best in a little video! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lm5...

Late to the party but I just saw Backrooms and really enjoyed it. Story was just alright, but where it absolutely worked was in the super uncanny audio and visuals. It wasn't simply "random objects", instead being a nightmare take on countless semi-nostalgic spaces. Great stuff!
Been toiling in the level design mines the past couple months. Here's a bunch of kitchen stuff I made recently.
I played through @regularstudio.bsky.social's Motorslice and I'm here to tell you there's vastly more interesting stuff in it than all the fan service discourse floating around. So I made a video about it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5GW...

Soulslikes? Those are old news. The latest indie revival is all about bringing back the glory days of King's Field. I decided to investigate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ-H...

Rebuilt my input handling from the ground up recently. Seamless swapping between devices, more controllers supported, warnings about duplicate binds, etc. Lots of stuff I was putting off forever.
Taking a break from DLSS memes to mention that I just dropped a video about 12 new & upcoming indies you should (maybe) wishlist right now! www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH_z...

Despite "Immersive Sim" being the third largest sub-genre in Next Fest, there are almost no imsims to be found. There are a lot of AI slop simulation games though.
Been cooking up this lockpicking minigame these past few weeks. My cursor doesn't show in the recording, but you have to keep it steady on the target icon. WIP!
Everyone's talking about "looksmaxxing", so I decided to have a "maximum-look" outside the bounds of many Backrooms games. Horrors mogged, or whatever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPTf...

Now that I've implemented player stats, I get to do stuff like this. #screenshotsaturday
Since your equipped camera already controls what UI you see, I decided to take it a step further and add custom themes for each one. New fonts, colors, and maybe more?
Been working on some RPG mechanics for my next game and made the decision to not just give the player stats, but all enemies too. Adds a ton of complexity and extra work, but it'll let me do neat things like apply status effects and modifiers regardless of the target.
