Equal Power Equal Voice is a mentoring programme aiming to increase diversity of representation in public and political life in Wales, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and Welsh Government. https://epev.cymru/

Last week, the latest training session for mentees centred on campaigning. Thank you to our speakers Huw Owen from the Electoral Commission, who covered an overview of the regulations around campaigning, and Damian Kerlin, a PR and comms consultant who delivered a 'Be Your Own Brand' workshop.

EPEV mentees had the opportunity to visit Westminster for a tour around the home of the UK Parliament and a series of insightful talks. Thank you to our speakers for sharing your honest and powerful reflections on representation, the importance of lived experience, and breaking down barriers.

We had a great day at the Senedd in Cardiff with passionate EPEV mentees and mentors! Highlights included talks from Mark Isherwood MS and former mentee Dee Montague-Coast, networking lunch, livestream of First Minister’s Questions, and a Senedd tour - a fantastic insight into public life in Wales.

Our new EPEV mentees took part in their first training session last week, which focused on gender equality & women's rights in Wales & the UK. We’re proud to see our cohort engaging so thoughtfully with these discussions, and we look forward to building on this foundation as the programme continues.
