Classic rogue-LIKE fans, this indie developer made a turn based title with permadeath, procedural levels and pure 90s sci-fi carnage, from the developer of DRL (f.k.a DoomRL) It's called Jupiter Hell Classic, and it's 20% OFF for the Steam Summer Sale!

Fun fact: Moria predates Rogue. But not THAT Moria. The 1970s PLATO Moria was a first-person dungeon crawler (proto-blobber?) with RANDOM LEVELS. The Moria that became Umoria->Angband was a later Rogue-inspired roguelike. This is why programmers say naming things is hard.

Following the successful psyop of bringing *that* DRL roguelike game to Steam via the guise of Jupiter Hell Classic workshop mod, we're now focusing on bringing you *that other* DRL roguelike game via mod to a new project called Mephisto. Stay tuned!

Finished Half-Life 1. Indeed a masterpiece of its time. I especially love the environments/level design and environmental storytelling. While people point out that Deus Ex was released afterwards, I do have to point out that Dark Forces and Jedi Knight were released before!

I will have to retract my fairly positive opinion about Claude and agentic code tools in general. While they do work fairly competently with the DRL mixed FreePascal/Lua codebase, against the much larger C++/Lua codebase of Jupiter Hell they're proving barely worthwhile...
