Someone help a girl out: if Goodreads automatically pulls listings from Amazon once the book is launched, how the heck do I put my book on Goodreads for ARC readers to review beforehand without confusing the system? Or do I just... not? The Librarians are taking too long to answer my question. 😂😂😂

Wild how the emotion of a chapter hits different when you haven't looked at it for a while. Revisiting a chapter that's had a tendency to feel like a slog (a very necessary "after" beat), and I haven't read it in over a month probably -- and now it just makes me so sad for Maeve (as it should). 🥺

The process of these final line edits has been a wild ride. I FINALLY IDed all my crutch words and fillers, and this week alone I've slashed over 1k words from the final manuscript. D6 was 196k. This draft went up to 197k when I added a chapter and some flashbacks. Now I'm at 194k and counting.

My eyes darted between the vial of blood-ink and Soren’s carefully neutral expression. “How does it work?” I asked in a tight voice. Soren leaned back in the chair. “We’ll need to mix your own ink using your blood – a single drop will suffice – and once it’s spelled, you’ll use it to sign me.” My brows lifted. “Sign you.” He gave a small laugh and said, “Yes. You’ll sign your name to me. Whenever you use the ink to write your message, it’ll appear briefly on my body. Likewise, I’ll sign you, so I can communicate with you if need be.” I blinked at him as his words moved through me. Sign him. And he would sign me. With blood. Our blood. My blood would be on his skin. His blood would be on mine. I suppressed a shudder.

This is such a fun question, because it does become a somewhere relevant plot point in book 2. Maeve would absolutely watch, and pretend she wasn't, and pretend she wasn't absolutely turned on by it. Soren would just chuckle with amusement and move on -- unless he was with Maeve. 😈
