I chaired an awesome session on understanding + responding to student absenteeism this morning. 6 am school wake up and the first thing my 8 year old son said was, “did the justices win the election? did they keep their seats?” referring to Donohue, Dougherty, and Wecht in PA. He was over the moon about it. “Yay we won!”. Then we had a mini lesson on federal, state, and local government.

Really excited about how my research agenda on truancy has taken off. I'm this year's keynote speaker for the Becca Conference which brings together education, justice, and community experts to expand best practices on engaging and supporting youth and families in crises (including truancy).
