The most stunning thing we saw diving Sund Rock yesterday though was the biggest GPO I've ever seen in the wild. It was fast asleep, out in the open, in only 18 feet of water. I've never seen one asleep out of its den and so shallow before.
I spent the morning diving in the Hood Canal and got a pretty decent shot of this beautiful golden dirona. Biggest one I've ever seen, at least as big as my palm.
I got a shot of the great horned owl that lives at my friend Amber's place. It was hooting at the owl that lives next door when we interrupted it, which probably accounts for the withering look. 🪶
A couple recent shots of a cormorant on a riverbank, just before and just after taking flight. 🪶
Here's a cute little sandpiper I saw hunting for breakfast at sunrise on a river bank a couple of weeks ago.
I was just going for a little walk at Shilshole Bay, said to my wife "I'm going to grab the camera in case there's an eagle" and literally 30 seconds later, an eagle was fighting with an osprey over a fish directly above me.
I was just out for a walk in Carkeek Park (bring shoes you don't mind getting wet, the stream is overflowing onto the path by the beaver dams) with @thursdayrome.bsky.social; she spotted a brown creeper. Though fairly common, this is my first ever non-blurry photo of one.
If you're at oregon country fair do stop by and see the Fremont Players in Sleeping Beauty and the Pea, noon and 3 every day at Morningwood. It's a fun show for all ages!
Reddit seems to have deleted my account without warning or explanation. No great loss, but is this happening a lot on reddit these days, anyone know? Or is it just me.
