Social media bans cannot be effectively enforced, and come with profound implications for everyone's human rights. Nevertheless the EU and Irish government seem hell bent on pushing through similar legislation here, without presenting a shred of evidence that such a ban will have a positive impact.

And that's the whole damn problem. We can have 150k people marching in 30°C weather and maybe The Indy and Evening Standard will say anything. We'll get more coverage in *foreign media* than our own. That's absolutely criminal, and it's a big part of why our rights are in decline: we have no voice.

It's *insane* that a private company like Thomson Reuters can collect and store massive databases of Americans' private data — names, addresses, SSNs, ethnicity, social media posts, and their granular location — and the gov't can just buy it, no warrant needed.
