It’s my understanding that the Paul Allen Trust did not give the stewards of the franchise much of an option but to sell to the highest bidder. Unfortunate as it is, I wonder if Paul Allen naively thought nobody would ever think to move his crown jewel.

I’m so curious what the delta in offers between Dundon’s group and the Bhathals. The objection to the latter was they didn’t have massive financial resources, but Dundon certainly operates in poverty. It’s so surprising Kolde would choose someone who’d gut everything he built over 3 decades ago

I think the best hope actually is this: the city and county pass the funding bill and then in 2-3 years when the expansion money comes in and the arena deal is done the franchise value goes up and Dundon sells his stake. Then we can all be done with this partnership it seems neither side wants.

It’s almost like the Blazers are trying to rage bait the city council into voting against the funding bill in order to manufacture reasons to leave. At this point that’s not hard to understand. At least it’s not hard for me. Dundon is trying to play a game of chicken.

The most important thing I heard today: Passing the bill only allows the city and the Blazers to actually negotiate a deal between the city’s legal negotiation team and the Blazers legal team. They have to put the ball in the NBA’s court. But the Blazers are def being very dodgy in public.
