It irks me that the media ran with KTMB highlighting the โ€œrecord numberโ€ of seats itโ€™s selling on ETS by using the airline method, which is purely calculating the carrying capacity for a point-to-point journey but makes no sense for a train that makes multiple stops on its trip๏ฟผ

Drastic changes to its ETS services starting 2027: more trips (and extras on weekends) across the board, but at the expense of long-haul routes like Penang-JB being split in half at KL Sentral, necessitating a train change at KL Sentral, perhaps for the better due to seat mathsโ€ฆ

KTM press release (Kuala Lumpur, 29 Oct 2026) announcing 1,573,872 train seats available for Janโ€“Mar 2027 and advance ticket sales opening 2 Nov and 1 Dec 2026, detailing ETS/ERT services and seating capacity breakdown.

One of the fascinating highlights was how Ng Sze Han, Executive Councillor for Selangor Mobility, turned the script on introducing people: instead of dragging me to see Amirudin Shari, the Chief Minister of Selangor, Sze Han brought Amirudin instead to see me (and other great-minded activists too!)

Iโ€™m at the Selangor Mobility Symposium to (hopefully) influence the future of transport policy in the state! Looking forward to hear from my followers โ€“ What's your biggest concern about the future of transport in the Klang Valley?
