The last few years have been uncomfortable watching people get witch hunted over fictional virtues. Wholesome has started to become a red flag word when dealing with online spaces. Is your work wholesome enough or will you get strung up for "normalizing" something declared bad?

I really think we need to learn to be uncomfortable and how to remove ourselves from situations as needed. There is space for uncomfortable topics. It isn't life ending to stumble upon something triggering and I say this as a csa and rape survivor. Self regulating is key.

I look at more "taboo" or darker art as a bdsm scene. You can either consent to the make believe or use your safe word and disengage. When you make art or writing featuring darker themes no real person gets hurt. A fictional character cannot be abused. They aren't real.
