The ESM Item Repository

@esmrepository.bsky.social

The Experience Sampling Method (ESM) Item Repository is an #OpenScience initiative to increase transparency & quality of ESM measures. Open bank of ESM items for use in research with 3000+ items. www.esmitemrepository.com | https://osf.io/kg376/

Thanks to our colleagues over at m-Path for featuring the ESM-Q on their blog. We developed the ESM-Q as a quality assessment tool and guideline for ESM items, led by @gudruneisele.bsky.social & @esmrepository.bsky.social, with a team of international delphi panelists. tinyurl.com/343w8dcf

We’re launching a bi-weekly m-Path blog on #ESM / #EMA measurement, new papers & showcases. 🗓️ Every 2 weeks (Wed). First up: item quality. A paper by @gudruneisele.bsky.social introduces ESM-Q: a consensus checklist for good momentary items. 👉 Read the blog: blog.m-path.io/blog/our-blo...

The ESM Item Repository needs your help! We're applying for funding 💰and we need people to tell us how they have used the Repository in their work. If you are willing to be contacted ✉️ by the Repository team to tell us more about this, please reply to this post and please share! #OpenScience

As well as doing a great job as part of the ESM Item Repository's Coding Team, @ccp-kuleuven.bsky.social's @millapihlajamaki.bsky.social has been busy investigating careless responding in ESM data. Check out her first preprint here! 👇 #ExperienceSampling #Measurement #OpenScience

The first preprint from my PhD is out: osf.io/preprints/ps...! 🥳 We explored the temporal dynamics of four careless responding indicators (response time, within-beep standard deviation, an inconsistency index, occasion-person correlation) in ESM data across different samples. Thread below🧵

We would love to add your items to the ESM Item Repository, to help other researchers discover your work, and work together towards better ESM measures. To contribute your items, download our contributor's pack (osf.io/6b2as/), fill out the item submission template📝, & send it over 📧! #OpenScience

ESM Item Repository: Contributors' pack

We now have 3300+ items in the Repository, which are openly available for use in research, and there's more on the way! We populate the Repository with items contributed by researchers & those we find in the "wild" by harvesting items from the published literature...

By way of an intro, we are an international #OpenScience initiative that started in 2018 and our goal is to increase transparency and quality of measures using in all flavours of daily life research (experience sampling method, ecological momentary assessment, ambulatory assessment, daily diary)...
