...And that's all for the day. We're very grateful indeed to colleagues at @EssexHRC and @EssexLawSchool for kindly hosting the workshop! And especially @Judith_Mesquita, @noconnor90 and @koldo_casla for the organisational labour.

And now @koldo_casla giving us a taster of his new book project. He's addressing the 'clash' between social rights and property rights, and how social rights must address property in order to advance its aims.

And our last (not least) panel of the day is on Housing and Property. Starting with @Pnm_shkr who is addressing a rights based approach to housing, against the backdrop of the Social Housing Reg Act and the Grenfell Tower fire.

Next up is Katie Morris, who is addressing the consumer/ cultural acceptability element of the right to food. Tracing the practice of the CESCR and the ECtHR (incl through prison cases) and suggesting ways we could better define and vindicate the right.

Having lunched, we are now considering the right to food. First up is @cjames_law. She's looking at the right to food and supermarkets. In particular thinking about how the minimum core and what obligations the UK govt might have.

Last paper before lunch is @btcwarwick on the role of civil society at the UN treaty bodies - who is reporting, from where, and on who? And what does that mean for the legitimacy of the system?

Next up is @PhilipOamen's paper! He's examining duties of international cooperation in relation to taxation and bringin a TWAIL critique to bear. In particular he's focussing on the state of play of ESR in African countries.

We're back with a panel on resources and acountability. First is @AzadehChalabi. She's presenting on an integrated rights based approach climate litigation, and details the various levels/ layers of harm and obligation that can be litigation targets.

Third is @StefAngeleri. Asking if states are unwilling to provide full health care to migrants, then does a 'Primary H/C' (Alma Ata) approach provide some ways that we can prioritise and define a minimum core? With lots of qual data from Colombia.

Our second paper is from @lukedgraham. A timely reexamination of inhuman and degrading treatment in the context of the administrative state. Taking IDT away from 'classic' criminal contexts. He's using the often cruel benefit sanctions system as an example to illustrate his args

First up, @SahgalRishika who is examining what exactly happens once we start using poverty as a ground in equality law. What are the successes and failures? Case studies in SA and India.

And we're off with our workshop @EssexHRC, @EssexLawSchool! It's a remarkable 24th ESRAN workshop, and it's worth a minute to reflect on the strength and depth of ESR scholarship since/ through the network's founding.
