Today’s #birdoftheday themes by @atlanticbirding.bsky.social: #LittleBrownBirds and #busted I’m going with this cormorant which looked better on the back of my camera. I think I should’ve stopped down more. It was a spur of the moment thing on the other hand. 📸 Canon ISO1250 | 800mm | f5.6 | 1/60s

An Little cormorant perched on the end of a weathered tree branch, facing directly toward the camera. The bird’s dark, rain-soaked plumage appears slightly ruffled, and its pale eyes and small hooked bill stand out against the black feathers. A White-crowned Sparrow getting dolled up with some Oregon Grape beakstick. Technically it violates the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #RedOrDead because the red is on the bird, but since it's an artificial enhancement I'm calling it fair play. 😂 🪶

A White-crowned Sparrow standing atop a Mahonia plant with a mashed berry in and on its beak. The intact berries below it are purple, but the mashed innards are violet-red. The compound leaves are waxy and reminiscent of holly leaves. The stems of the leaves are red. Bokeh light through green leaves makes an abstract background.

'Over the Rainbow' #FotoVorschlag

Die Victoriafälle stürzen in mehreren mächtigen Wasserströmen über eine steile Felskante in eine enge Schlucht. 'Over the Rainbow' #FotoVorschlag ist einfach noch einer 🤩

Das Bild zeigt eine Dünenlandschaft mit hohem Dünengras und niedrigen Sträuchern unter einem wolkenreichen Himmel. 'Over the Rainbow' #FotoVorschlag

Ein abgeerntetes Getreidefeld mit goldgelben Stoppeln erstreckt sich bis zum Horizont. Mehrere große, runde Strohballen liegen über das Feld verteilt, wobei ein Ballen im rechten Vordergrund besonders hervorsticht. Darüber spannt sich ein beeindruckender, nahezu vollständiger Doppelregenbogen von einer Bildseite zur anderen. Der innere Regenbogen leuchtet kräftig in allen Spektralfarben, während der äußere deutlich schwächer zu erkennen ist. Im Hintergrund ziehen dunkle, fast schwarze Gewitterwolken auf, die einen starken Kontrast zum warmen Licht auf dem Feld bilden. Die tief stehende Sonne beleuchtet die Landschaft und lässt das Stroh golden leuchten, wodurch eine eindrucksvolle Stimmung zwischen Unwetter und Sonnenschein entsteht.
