No modern cat game can compete with On the Tiles for the c64. Don't even show up to the party unless you have a UI with a counter for how many fish bones you've found, your 'prowl points', a dancing mouse and how many fleas you have youtu.be/GXkZQJew8As
No better way to sum up the UK home-computer scene than a game where you play as the "Greedy Guzzler" who picks up "Frobbies" and "Bonus Barry" and must avoid "Deflator Dennis" www.mobygames.com/game/65488/g...
i did it... i got the Gradius 1cc (only the first loop let's not talk about the 2nd loop). thank you @dot-lvl.bsky.social for making it Gradius July that was a fun challenge. not deathless cause i fucked it on the last stage but that made the recovery even better youtu.be/jHysvVpgvvw

was about a minute away from a Gradius 1cc, with six lives left, and choked it away... dying where i died is really hard to recover from so i dont feel too bad but the initial death was completely unforced so im uploading it for posterity and self-shaming
just killed the God of Poverty. crushed him into the ground. so consider that whole issue dealt with
buddy i think you used it for something else too
Dino Quest VR https://store.steampowered.com/app/4855460/ $15.00 Step into the world of Dino Quest VR, an adventure where exploration, survival, fossil hunting, and dinosaurs come to life around you.
finished Maze of Galious, drove me a bit mad sometimes with the runbacks but otherwise really cool. released just 8 months after Metroid 1 and kinda makes that game look small fry in some ways. many charming touches and fun to map out. v interested in the La Mulana devs' upcoming remake
genuinely think this game is awesome and am increasingly annoyed that people view it as some sort of kusoge (although kusoge is cool too)
we have never, in the history of the very concept, been quite so powerfully back
Finished Golvellius now, really liked it. Enjoyed that the emphasis was placed on secrets hunting in the overworld rather than the dungeon bits, that's my fav stuff. Also used screenshots in Obsidian to make a map after seeing @fiora-almater.neocities.org do it for La Mulana and that was v fun
having an excellent time with Golvellius
Looks like the folks over at Stargood Translations just released an English patch for the Mega CD game Mahou no Shoujo Silky Lip. This was an early video game that sold itself as an interactive anime, with many JP fans believing it had an influence on Sakura Wars. stargood.org/trans/slip.php
the new carly rae jepsen video features one of the most absurd bits of product placement i've ever seen (I have replaced the music with the Resident Evil 4 save theme)
they're putting me in the lesbian iron maiden and not letting me out till i achieve nirvana
Finished End of Starchild and yowzers what a game. I cant believe it's free! so much work went into this! It's constantly surprising you with new hidden depths, satisfyingly challenging combat encounters and crazy presentational sauce. Will be up there for my GOTY no doubt msx.horse/eos/
I was dying last night watching @windygria.art finish Sword of Vermilion. That game comes out of nowhere with wild lines and it hit its height with the big bad final boss dropping "your mother is now my wife"
