Albania's strong progress on its EU accession path.   Parliament praises Albania's strong progress in recent years and acknowledges its ambition to finish EU accession negotiations by 2027. Albania’s path to EU membership will depend on how effectively it implements key reforms.

Long-distance driving in Europe is getting simpler for electric vehicles 🚗💨 New rules adopted by the European Parliament define where chargers and hydrogen stations must be placed for cars, trucks, and buses across major EU roads, so drivers always know where to refuel.   🎞️ Thelma and Louise (1991)

Montenegro best prepared candidate to become 28th EU member country.   Parliament welcomes Montenegro’s steady progress on EU-related reforms, supported by its ambition to complete negotiations by the end of 2026 and become the EU’s 28th member state by 2028.   Read more: link.europa.eu/tjD9V7

Today, our thoughts are with the victims of the attack in Berlin, their families and everyone attending the Christopher Street Day celebrations. Hate and violence have no place in our Europe of freedom and respect. We will continue to stand together against those who seek to spread fear & division.

Fifteen years ago today, 77 lives were taken - most of them young - on an island that should have been a place of summer, friendship, and first ideas about the world they wanted to build. On that day, Norway grieved, and Europe grieved with it. Utøya. Oslo. We remember.

47 years ago today, history was made.   Simone Veil became the first President of the directly elected European Parliament and the first woman to lead an EU institution. To this day, her legacy inspires generations to follow.

Serbia must show real commitment to EU values.   Progress towards EU membership of Serbia only possible with rule of law reforms and stronger democratic standards. Serbia must normalize relations with Kosovo. Free and fair elections needed to solve political crisis.

Parliament welcomes Ukraine's progress on reforms for EU membership, amid ongoing war.   Ukraine has made progress on judicial reform and anti-corruption, but critical work remains.   Ukraine's momentum on the battlefield must be supported and pressure on Russia increased.

Ten years ago today, Europe was shaken by the horrific terrorist attack in Nice. A decade later, we remember the 86 lives taken, the hundreds injured, and the families forever changed by that night. We will never forget 🇪🇺🇫🇷

Moldova is making solid progress on its EU path despite Russian interference. Parliament praises Moldova for its commitment to accession. EU support for Moldova is unwavering, including for its territorial integrity. The country aims to conclude accession negotiations by 2028.
