The problem with a question like this is that it doesn’t differentiate between what things respondents think Americans should be willing to give up. Because sometimes those things boil down to “basic personal safety” and other times they boil down to “another yacht.” These things are not the same

Sure, there are bad things, but right now I have three 11-week old kittens crawling all over me and purring so sometimes there’s really good things too.

When I was a clinic defender, we had a rule that you could not talk to the antis. They would deliberately try to suck us into arguments so we wouldn’t see patients walking up. Random passers-by who told antis off made our day, and often had the effect of distracting *them* from harassing patients

This is the type of thing you can expect on birdstream. Turns out there’s a nesting pair of black-capped chickadees in one of our tree stumps. Mom and dad both making steady trips in and out carrying food so I’m guessing they’re hatched. That means fledging chickadees soon 👀 #birds

What an incredibly specific and also bizarre piece of information.

I’m not going to look because I value my sanity, but I’d be willing to bet there’s a lot of people calling him Mayor Mao right now, and frankly, I think where landlords are concerned he should lean into that characterization.
