well, it's drifting so.

i think you should become an animist and use it/its pronouns. it's cool to care about the world so much that your alienation from humanity clicks into place. i write. maybe you'll see some of my writing around.

emília bad at video games. emília can only execute basic muscle-memory-based reactive skills and track flying objects well 80% of the time. emília can't even execute these skills with good consistency or higher level skills like metastrategizing or outwitting her opponents. emília so bad at games

i didn't watch it but i was looking for raiden videos and i saw one that was like "Full playthrough of the Raiden arcade game using 28 credits." i appreciate that in a world where 1ccers and savestate longplayers clash for dominance someone is out there quietly uploading their 28cc

not feeling chronic alienation is very nice and involves a lot less distress and despair than being alive did before. but I also wonder if because I am behaving less as if I am different that I am forgetting the ways I should be...? I don't know what "should" means here.

thinking about exactly what it is that indie computer shmups (e.g. zeroranger, hellsinker, touhou) are trying to convey that makes the far wider mistake budget make sense for them, in contrast to arcade shmups where essentially near-perfection is expected

i have to face the fact that the atlantis no nazo i was playing was far better than the game atlantis no nazo actually is. i got to the end and picked up the jewel and i honetsly feel like i've been spat on. all that time without the star and it just gives you a level that essentially requires it

the xenogears intro cinematic + exposition absolutely blew my socks off at a time when I was like "well, time for me to launch a game I haven't tried yet when my hands can't handle anything intensive" so idk when I'm gonna get thru it exactly but holy shit I am hooked

you know. we have a world where ex-cops are able to talk about what they did, and why they regret it, and be accepted into leftist circles. but we don't have that for sexual assailants. would it not help everyone if we could accept those perspectives?

to be honest, i don't really trust people who carelessly use terms like "rapist", "predator", "sex pest", "abuser". sexual violence is not o totally unlike other forms of violence as people seem to treat it. we've all been hurt. we move on.

it seems that a focus on assisting one another with a holistic approach towards healing and growth, and being gentle to oneself, is becoming central to my politics lately... hopefully we can structure our intersubjective ecologies in such a way where kinder memes find fitness more regularly.

it's kind of difficult having such a fundamentally skewed view of what "reality" is that trying to convey it just gets you running into the walls of the normative conceptions, rather than having any idea how to make progress being understood.

when zr does Blow Up (more than just the strong cult following it has now) i hope the inevitable "zerocore" games that fixate upon the "there is a melee weapon" aspect focus on doing interesting things with the bullet stalls, and explore polymorphism in the melees - gimme a bardiche in a shmup

my spatial intuition and restraint are 1-2 standard deviations to the left of the average arcade gamer, but it won't stop me from getting some clears sometime. working with my difficulties with spatial management + honing the edge of my love of aggressive play is really compelling to me.

there are two kinds of "open world" games: those that develop a relational skeleton alongside the gameplay sections, and those that develop level design atop a spatial plane. tentatively i'd call the former "structured world", the latter being more modern idea of "open world"
