Today on International Day of Older People we celebrate the huge contributions of older residents in Southwark. Through our Age-Friendly Forum and partnerships we’re tackling ageism, improving services and making sure older voices shape real change.

Launched Southwark’s Disability Hub today – a vital step for inclusion. It’s about voice, power and independence, giving disabled residents space to shape decisions and share access info. Huge thanks to residents and officers who got us here.

Old Kent Road bridge has had a bold new makeover as part of the wider renewal of the area, which is bringing new homes and jobs, as well as new parks and a network of youth spaces. Titled ‘A Home from Home’, the mural was co-designed with the local community. www.southwark.gov.uk/news/2024/br...
