Born on this day in 1933, Jimmy Harris. The Birkenhead lad succeeded Dave Hickson as the Toffees’ number nine. Famed for his electric pace, he went on to play for Birmingham City. In later life, he was a regular attendee at Goodison Park for matches & EFCFPF functions.

Norman Greenhalgh - a Boltonian who became Everton skipper. The tough-tackling left-back, who had the nickname Rollicker, won the league in 1939 & became club captain in 1946. Later Mine Host at the Winslow. He was born on 10 August 1914.
