if you want to know how important it is for you to do this math: the fees patreon took from me in 2025 add up to roughly 3 months of income. that's 3 months of income i would have paid taxes on if i didn't deduct the fees from the 1099. 3 months of income i never actually had!
the haver of it🔞@taylortitmouse.bsky.social · 6mo agoreminder when you're doing your taxes, the number patreon is putting on your 1099 is the gross and they DO NOT exclude all the money they took from you in fees. you need to deduct that yourself as business expenses. an easy ("easy") way to do that is to download your earnings by month
