Artificial Scarcity. Specifically Bottle Necking. Best seen with how publishers/devs make freemium mobile games. Egregiously add ads then create scarcity by selling powerups as a โ€œsolutionโ€. Replace mobile ads with micro transactions. Same abusive strategy entices similar results.
