I've given myself a deadline for draft 3 of The Cursed, it's in 3 weeks. Doable. And now I'm tempted to give myself more deadlines. Like finish drafting The Murder of Priscilla Faye by end of March, and finish the next round of edits on The Deceived before the end of February 🫣 Doable? Maybe? 💀

There's a lot of stuff I hate on social media, but nothing gets my goat quite like the kind of post where someone (-thing?) quotes basically everything you've written, clearly without digesting any of the content, only to proceed to express interest in what you do (generically, to scam you later).

This Gothic romance novella I'm trying to write is probably going to get every single religious metaphor and simile available. But I feel entitled to it, Catholic upbringing and religious trauma and all that. And my MC has all that shit multiplied by a thousand. #writing #writingcommunity #writesky

It seems it has only taken me three months to turn from a great fit for the position in the eyes of the people I supervise, to a black-eyed villain, out to crush their little hearts. Oh well. I got the job because I'm conflict-free, so they made the conflict up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just saw a take from some fundie Christian pastor how women shouldn't live independently, or rather that women should serve men. It's sweet of them to constantly be admitting that they wouldn't survive without a woman feeding them, but I would rather these fundies had no right to live independently.

Draft three of The Cursed is now over 91K words long. Somehow, about 34K still remains to be revised. The previous draft stood at 125,134 words. It seems that my attempts at cutting words have been nullified by my adding words. Who knew that's how that works 🤷🏻‍♀️ #writing #writingcommunity #writesky
