You can't fix stupid, but you can sell it red caps, dumb flags, gold sneakers, autographed bibles, ugly watches, worthless stock, and empty promises.

If this nominee was applying for a job in the private sector and pretended not to be able to answer a simple question, there would be a less than zero chance of his being awarded the job. And yet, a majority of Republican senators won't bat an eye at this dishonesty and obfuscation.

OSSOFF: Who won the 2020 election? CLAYTON: Uhm, you know, I'm not going to do this with you O: This is a job interview. You have an obligation to be honest with the committee. Who won the 2020 election? C: I'm not gonna get into that with you O: You're not being honest or forthright C: ...

Lindsey Graham wasn’t always a soulless Trump simp. Back in 2015, he spoke the truth about his party’s eventual nominee: "He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot. He doesn't represent my party. He doesn't represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for.”

When you don't have any achievements to run on and the country’s in objectively worse shape, what do you do? You make “COMMUNISM!” your new boogeyman. It’s mind-numbingly stupid and yet, Americans fell for fear-mongering about caravans, trans athletes, & immigrants eating their pets just 2 years ago

Do we have a spending problem? I argue no. Short 🧵 Here's a graph of all program spending EXCEPT Social Security and Medicare from 1950-present (with projections through 2056). It's already way below average, moving towards historic lows. So clearly that part of the govt isn't a "problem."

All time low under Clinton. Current level lowest except for Clinton and Bush and Obama, but on track to be lowest except a single year under Clinton.

With all due respect, this "one nation under God" dreck is a delusion that was foisted on the public in the 1950s as part of the Red Scare. The Founding Fathers were guided by Enlightenment Principles, not the Bible. In fact, Jefferson created his own bible, stripping out the supernatural nonsense.

The founding fathers called America God’s noble experiment. I believe in all three words to this day: we are one nation under God, we have clung to noble ideas for longer than any other nation, and we are an experiment always changing, trying to make ourselves better.

One year after Trump signed his “big, beautiful bill,” it has begun reshaping the country. At least 4 million people have lost food stamps. Millions more will lose healthcare. Refugees and other legal immigrants are getting kicked off the safety net. And the wealthiest Americans have gotten richer.

How Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ changed America
