You filed late, your story is 500 words too long, you spoke to only white men and you didn’t write any photo captions. Should I hold the front page or do you wanna also get two unnamed sources?

With the election is over and a more decisive victory for king baby, the MAGA folks seem like they’re at a bit of a loss. What to do when your plan seems to have worked? For me, it’s back to editing stories about children torn apart and people in Gaza describing what it’s like to see that happen.

Trying not to give in to despair and anger is probably the hardest thing to do in the stupid journalism industry. It all makes me angry and The News is pretty universally bad, so despair frequently wins the fight against hope. But we keep trying. Good night, Bluesky. -30-

lol. I just got an email from the bad place informing me that a racist, misogynist account I have been reporting daily for vile and abusive content “did not violate our safety policies.” YOU HAVE NO SAFETY POLICIES YOU ABSOLUTE SHIT-HEELS.

I read for a living and let me tell you, my pleasure-reading took a huge nosedive during the pandemic. During a too-brief leave of absence from work, I had to teach myself how to enjoy reading again. I sometimes still have trouble focusing and can only read short stories. But they’re great!

Did you know that reading for pleasure reduces stress by up to 68%? It can actually loosens your tense muscles and lower your heart rate. You know, in case anything stressful has happened over the past couple of days. #booksky📚💙#books📚#reading

The vibes are off. Have been for a couple years. But the last year has just been non-stop babies in bags and videos of people being burned alive while hooked up to IVs in makeshift hospitals, but oh, make sure your headline is balanced!

Everybody in the newsroom is angry and raw and it’s so fun editing some of the worst news of the year when reporters are sending you shitty “Do you know who I *am*?” emails and hanging up on you. Keep up the good work, pals. Makes me feel great and not at all like walking into a lake.
