Until we overthrow the shackles of capitalism, mankind is doomed to continue to remake Spiderman movies until the sun at last envelops the earth and ends our suffering.
Existential Comics
@existentialcomics.com
A philosophy webcomic about the inevitable anguish of living a brief life in an absurd world. Also jokes.
Do you think Kierkegaard had a "cheat day" for existential despair? Like, a day where he would just go around and enjoy his life.
What I hate about all the Odyssey discourse is that it has left very little room for the people who just generally hate Matt Damon and aren't going to watch another one of his stupid movies.
The core of existential despair is contained within the fact that we only get to live once. Life comes and goes, each minute never to return. And the worst part is, none of our life gets to be lived in the Sombrero Galaxy.
100% in favor of this. I'm sure it will get even BETTER reviews and make even MORE money than Christopher Nolan's version. It will prove once and for all that morons with a computer can create art better than artist.
JUST IN: Elon Musk says Grok will make a "full-length movie" of The Odyssey that is "historically accurate" by the end of this year.
If I were a Spanish player, I would simply not kick it straight at the goalie.
If I had a time machine I would go back to England in the 1860s and tell the people first codifying the rules of soccer to make more room in the game for ad breaks.
David Attenborough voice: "here we see the indigenous Falklander preparing a tradition meal, known by the locals as "bangers and mash". Meals like this, strange as they may seem to us, have been prepared by his ancestors on these islands for the last dozens of years."
England - Argentina continuing to generate DISCOURSE even after the match, what glorious times we live in
Looking forward to World War III, where our roided our alpha males who can all bench 315 get merc'd by 95 lb Chinese drone operators who honed their skills trying to impress their Genshin Impact waifus.
Hegseth announced they're gonna start screening for T and administering testosterone treatment for warriors found wanting
The actual most remarkable thing about the "Hand of God" goal is that Maradona is clearly like two feet shorter than the English goalie and is still out jumping him by a foot. Like, my dude, hand or no hand how is that possible.
I love how companies will just send you an email like "oh by the way we've changed the terms and conditions. Why? Uh, no reason, we just decided to. Anyway it doesn't really matter what you think, you agree to this now."
I hate when people assume movies add nothing to the book. "Things are so much better when you imagine them yourself". Nah bro, what if I suck at imagining? What if my personal rendition of Gandalf wasn't quite as good and Sir Ian McKellen's. Maybe my background music was as good as Alan Shore's.
A scientist, a philosopher, and a poet walk into a bar. They all drink heavily to try to forget the state that society is in.
I spoke to Mitch McConnell for 20 minutes this morning. He told me that he had verified the verification principle, but out of respect for his family's privacy I can't say how.
"I could interrogate every person who ever existed... It would be paradise!" Each week, Corey Mohler draws a new @existentialcomics.com . We publish one in every issue of Philosophy Now. This issue features the one that reimagines the last minutes of Socrates' life.
Okay fine but I'd like to see how the Belgians would do against us in one of OUR sports. Like beer pong. Or lawn mower racing. Or hot dog eating.
Look, the American soccer players might not be the most athletic, they might not be the most skilled, they might not have the most experience, but there is one thing I can say for sure: they are the dumbest.
Is it just me or does it look a bit like soccer might in fact be like the 7th most popular sport here, and maybe we aren't gonna win the World Cup with grit and determination.
As an American here are my humble suggestions to improve soccer: 1. Get rid of offsides. Stupid. 2. Have the clock stop and count down. 3. Let them put on pads and helmets so they can bash each other. 4. More stoppages for commercials. 5. Let them pick up the ball. Never been a fan of kicking.
What I love about the World Cup is that so many people around the world get to experience REAL American culture (finding a way to inject more ads into the game).
If I were a footballer in the World Cup, I would simply point into the stands and say "what in the WORLD can that be?!" and then when everyone looked I would score the decisive goal.
Ecuador's coach looks like he's from a 90s comedy where Ben Stiller or whoever inadvertently finds themselves coaching a World Cup team.
The announcer just called Metlife stadium "New York New Jersey stadium" and I guess that's what they are going with to try to pretend it is New York for the World Cup lol. Incredible phrase. Would make Wittgenstein proud.
