I'm in the home stretch of editing before I add music and do general polish. I needed some footage of the Recomp since that dropped while I was editing. Even though it was working fine just a few hours ago, the thing has started crashing five seconds after booting. There's always something.

With all these excellent and technically impressive N64 Recomps coming out, I realized how bizarre it is that Piko Interactive has produced and sold two underwhelming PC ports of Glover despite being the IP owners and ostensibly having the source code.

I've been twisting myself in knots trying to avoid reusing clips or putting clips of the same level or character too close too each other. I even wrote an app to track the last three levels and characters and rng one of each. All for the sake of a video most people will listen to rather than watch.

Can someone tell me if lossless HEVC is really lossless? I just realized my "archive" recordings have different noise patterns compared to the avi originals. Is it an RGB to YUV colorspace conversion thing?

Any retro gaming PC enthusiasts out there who can help with running Unreal on a bare metal Win98 machine with 256 MB of memory and a Pentium III 450MHz processor? Despite exceeding the minimum requirements the game runs at an N64 framerate on an ATI Rage Fury Pro and somehow worse on an FX 5500.

Well, I've edited roughly 25 minutes out of 150 for the DK64 review. There's nothing that slows things down more than agonizing over the perfect clip to showcase the lighting engine, only to find a better one by accident while looking for something else. If only I wasn't such a perfectionist.

If anyone knows a good marker plugin for OBS or mkvs, I could really use one. I just had to place hundreds of markers across 20 hours of footage by hand and it was pretty tortuous. But if I don't do that I'll never be able to find anything during production, so I'm stuck.

I dusted off my Wii U to record some DK64 on VC so I could get footage of the stuff made worse by lack of lag like the rabbit race. I discovered that Mad Jack has a much better camera angle if you press down C. After threeish playthroughs I'm still somehow learning new things about this game.

Just had a pizza in Canada and it had sesame seeds on the crust. I mentioned it to my Canadian friend, and he said "Doesn't all pizza have sesame seeds?" Evidently that's a thing up here.

Tried playing Psychonauts on my Legion Go S and the Linux version runs like dogshit. The graphics look wrong, the camera constantly spins and all the UI shows keyboard icons no matter what. It's so bad that Steam shouldn't be allowed to sell it.

Wii U discs are strangely brittle and easy to damage. I have GameCube discs I've owned since I was a child that are scratched to hell but still boot, yet pristine looking Wii U discs just give me an "Invalid Disc" error and refuse to boot.

Is Diddy's piranha submarine supposed to be impossible in the Tag Anywhere mod? In the vanilla version I can usually do it in two tries, but in the mod I've failed 7 times. I swear there's not enough time.

Vaguely curious about the Halo remake, if only to verify the mixed reviews for myself. With all due respect to Halo fans, who else would get mad about the addition of an optional run button?

I'm recording Sonic Adventure stock footage on DC. To kill time during cutscenes I went on Reddit. Seems like for Redditors there's still no middle ground between "a poorly aged 3D fiasco with a bad camera and controls" and "an early 3D masterpiece you can't criticize because it came out in 1998."

I just played DK Barrel Blast for stock footage, and it's really weird how the toss off motion waggle racing game does way more to celebrate the franchise's legacy than the fourth and fifth Country games. They even brought back stuff from DKC3, which DK64 didn't even do.

Been recording a whole bunch of stock footage, and the original Xbox was a really interesting time. You had Blinx, Crimson Skies, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Fuzion Frenzy, Mechassault, Psychonauts, and of course Halo. It's interesting to see them try to establish an identity in the very early 2000's.

Some of these Star Fox challenges make me grumpy. It seems to think I'm shooting the Meteo Crusher's shield even when I definitely did not. Then you have to replay the entire level just to try again.

Metroid Prime 4 is a weird one. I agree with virtually all the common criticisms and found certain aspects very disappointing, so I can't relate to those who loved it. On the other hand, I don't think certain common criticisms are AS bad as other people do, so I can't relate to those that hated it.

Recorded some stock footage of a few early 3D games from 1996. I know it's easy to judge it with hindsight, but I'm seriously wondering how something as clunky and plodding as the original Tomb Raider got four (or was it five?) PS1 sequels. It really was a different time.
