He didn’t understand a lot of the babble the Splicers went on with, but he could detect the threats. Although Bo’s tone had been friendly and warm, Iota was immediately set on guard as he observed him, his posture rigid and ready to defend himself.

He wasn’t sure he could even eat it. It had been so long since he had eaten solid food…..he couldn’t even remember the last time or what real food even tasted like. Longingly he stared at the can before he grabbed it and tried to open it unsuccessfully, groaning in frustration.

Bo just stood there with a mix of confusion (and admittedly, curiosity), looking at the other. Had he upset him? Bo did not know of how Big Daddies were made or about their state of mind, he only knew that - to an extent - they had been brainwashed into performing their duties without objection.
