Been assuming Carney doesn't expect pipeline projects to actually meet the conditions he's named, as dangers of global warming become more apparent and renewables become more viable. Been assuming his promises are for the sake of National unity. If it turns out I'm wrong, voting NDP next time.

Hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing climate fires across Europe and North America. Meanwhile the planet burners are making record profits. And they are hitting up the Canadian taxpayers for $100 billion for another pipeline. www.theguardian.com/business/ng-...

"Ecological systems do not distinguish between organisms because of intelligence or intention. They respond to relationships, abundance, and demand." All true in the systemic view! In a population ecology view though *accepting* that humans are indeed an exception might help our *will" to respond?

We readily apply ecological principles to every other species. Why do we make an exception for ourselves? New Essay: The Human Exception

Fauci was doing his job. Well! Can't say this for any of the current US administration. In Canada Maple MAGA blamed Trudeau for mask thing. Opposition didn't ostensibly enflame this element of their base and we hope wheels come off the idiotocracy down there before it gets established here.

People were upset about a novel virus, the death and suffering it caused, and the social disruption to avoid more death and suffering. But getting mad at a virus isn’t emotionally satisfying. So find a person to blame, ideally someone you already hate. They victimized you! Yeah, that’s the stuff.

What they want you to believe: Wildfires = Canada mismanagement. What the data says: 335 million hectares burned globally in 2025. 3,955 fires in Canada in 2026 alone, 1,092,095 hectares in non-EU Europe, Spain, France, USA, South Africa, Australia. This is climate, not a country.
