Man this "AI will take over the world" and "AI will kill all humans" shit is beyond insufferable. Like stop building it if you believe that, and since you obviously won't stop building it please shut the fuck up and stay in your lane. It's genuinely the most annoying marketing I've ever seen

Finding out it costs like, hiring an employee level money to use these AI apps the way that tech bro influencers are talking about them is insane. Cool reskin of space invaders, took a week and thousands of dollars? Anyone who has ever done a game jam can do it better in a weekend lol

Zoom is such awful software, BUT why don't very many other video call programs have markup/annotation features? I pretty much always want to be able to turn on the ability to draw on someone's screen

People talk about how "AI" products "steal" creative work in order to function, and that is usually framed as something that happens as part of the material used to "train" the model. What I've noticed usually getting left out is the much more direct way in which ideas are stolen. (1/5)

ACE studio ai WILL NOT STOP CONTACTING ME. I blocked them and they're contacting me through an intermediary agency offering me "approximately $54.80 to $164.41" per video promoting their slop machine. my previous email literally said "fuck off" no caps just like that hahahha.

Dang the new openai product's *cinematic advertisement* doesn't even contain stuff that's exciting or scary. Everyone's like "game dev is cooked! it can connect to blender and make space invaders clone with a 3D model based on your prompt!" Like nobody actually wants to buy that lol

The transition from Enya's "May It Be" to the Shire theme is probably the best ultra-hollywood emotional payoff you can do in film. absolute master class in basic "V is related to I" music theory just absolutely sent home with beautiful melodies and orchestration. 10/10 no notes

hire me to do audio stuff for you (or just send me money so i can work on my own game without getting distracted by paid work hahahaha)

non-regular reminder to politely but firmly ask people to leave the function if they are wearing smart glasses. You don't need to make a scene unless they turn it into a problem. people need to know they are unwelcome in public wearing those things

I'm starting to see a new version of AI-driven mental health issues that's distinctly different from AI psychosis. It's like people who use it lamenting that it's making us dumber, and talking about that like *everyone* is using it the way they are. Like dawg YOU are getting dumber, I'm not hahaa

Why do the ads for AI products feel like the ads on porn sites "curious about ai? Sign up to try for free" like no I don't need your fake sexy milf book burning software

I've found that I've started genuinely not believing stuff people say or write if I know they interact with language models a lot. It's like a boy who cried wolf thing, they're always so dismissive when it turns out the thing they said is incorrect, i just can't take them seriously

I've been saying this. If you made it with AI, then, well, then I can too, right? So your product essentially holds no economic value. And if you think your prompt is "special" I urge you to look into other products or services made by other people using the same model you use. Indistinguishable.

“Which leaves the question the industry has been avoiding: an AI model may be cheaper to produce, but what is it actually worth?” futurism.com/artificial-i...

Man it's crazy that everyone suddenly has the same game idea with the same uncredited concept artist and web design for their pre-alpha project. I wonder how that possibly could have happened and why their game's branding looks just like every would-be engineer's claude product. weird. crazy.

trying to decide between joining the ink jam or the godot wild jam next week (or just not joining a game jam and having time to myself)

Twitch has added a setting that allows Amazon to use your channel content as training for generative AI. This setting is on by default. To disable this, click your channel profile -> Settings -> Security and Privacy -> scroll down until you see Training for Generative AI -> disable setting

man some of y'all are making some gorgeous indie games, but something i've noticed is that a lot of it is indistinguishable at a distance, like i'll see gameplay from a game i'm following and realize it's not the same game, just another pixel art precision platformer metroidvania with similar art

I'm beginning to think of agentic coding's niche as "3D printing, but for software" In other words, it helps when you need some functionality that's not easily available off the shelf and you don't care if it's scuff. However, it's less well-suited to industrial-grade automation

Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%

Pie chart showing game engines used to create 10,511 GMTK Game Jam games in 2026. Godot has the largest slice with 47%. Then Unity with 34%. Other with 11%. Game Maker with 5%. And Unreal Engine with 3%.

had a weird dream that i was in a cover band at a residency gig fronted by david lee roth. i was the bass player and the guitar player was a bass player friend of mine. he was stressing about the guitar parts and i was stressing about the bass parts since we knew all of each others parts
