CTO @Satispay 🦄 | Ex-VMware/Broadcom Distinguished Engineer | 20+ years discovering that great tech comes from understanding both systems and souls | Speaker, mentor, perpetual student

The next chapter: I'm joining Satispay as their CTO. They're revolutionizing payments for millions across Europe: simple, fair, accessible. We're hiring across engineering. Want to build fintech that actually empowers people? Let's talk.

Today I'm ending my 12-year VMware journey. When I joined, "cloud native" was barely a concept. We built teams that created and improved systems that became industry standards. This one goes out to all the exceptional engineers who made this remarkable. Next? Details tomorrow, so sit tight 😀

Another thing that’s has been occupying a lot of my time on the weekends lately is following my daughter through various fencing competitions across the country. She started taking classes in July last year and went all in 😀

I’ve been trying to stay away from social media, mostly to wait out the fallout from Trump being sworn president once again. Since the craziness is still “pedal to the metal” with no sign of slowing down, I’m considering building a bit of a bubble on here and start interacting again.

Back in the saddle after a pretty cool Christmas break. One of the highlights of the break was that I drove to Denmark and back in 4 days! First proper road trip with an EV, and no issues whatsoever. Visiting Billund and the Lego House was pretty awesome.

I mean, I don’t know if this counts as bragging or what, but I’m definitely the only person I know that owns an industrial-grade AC unit that is installed on a 19 inch rack sitting on the roof.

🧵 a thread with a hot take fresh out of Kubecon: AI workloads are so different from traditional and cloud-native workloads that require a first class citizen abstraction that we don’t have yet. 1/3

The joy of traveling: missing a connection in Denver after 16+ hours of travel and being stuck overnight in a dusty motel outside the airport. But don’t worry Kubecon, I’m getting there today 😂

What are the best options for somebody who’s confident with Go and C (and a bit of Java too) and wants to learn Python? I feel like I’m making progress on my own but missing a lot of nuances about the language.
