a message from glass beach to our fans:

since coming back from our tour in 2024 we have been on and off trying to make a third album and/or another tour happen. we have decided after lots of back and forth that we no longer feel capable of making music together that we’re proud of nor can we tour in a way that works for all of us. we value our art enough not to compromise quality or our relationships with each other for the sake of continuing our career. because of this, we have decided to end glass beach.

we are all still friends, and in fact will find it much easier to be friends without this career coming between us. we harbor no ill will towards our label run for cover, who have been endlessly supportive, nor to anyone else we have been working with professionally.

we all intend to continue to make art and music, though not together as glass beach. j put out her debut under the new alias “you are an angel” and is already gearing up to tour that album and begin recording the next one, while finding time for other collaborative work and non-music projects as well.

Jonas is streaming music on twitch, working as a commission artist, and is releasing a set of acoustic demos tomorrow for a solo album they're working on.

Layne is streaming on Twitch, Youtube, and TikTok. Along with gaming challenge runs, he's put out a couple videos on YT and is working on new music, visual art, and planning out commission guidelines. You can find links to all of this on his Twitch page, along with a community Discord for updates & a Patreon link for overall support.

William has shifted mostly into community organizing, disability justice/mask distro/clean air advocacy. She's still writing music and may or may not record it at some point, but will be playing shows with high quality mask requirements in the greater Seattle area from time to time.
