We won’t let giant meat companies get away with their climate lies. FarmSTAND and our allies took Tyson to court for misleading consumers about the climate impact of its beef. Our suit resulted in a historic settlement.

Deep Dive: Tyson’s Climate Deception - FarmSTAND

Most people want to eat food that is good for them and the planet. As awareness of the climate crisis grows, eaters have become more concerned with making sustainable food choices. But many consumers…

It's not just cyclospora in the lettuce. Other pathogens like salmonella and e. coli are supercharged by factory farming — and gaps in the regulatory system amplify the risk. FarmSTAND's Holly Bainbridge spoke to Grist about the connection. Read the article ➡️

4 things to know about cyclospora and climate change

A fragile food system, uneven public health messaging, and global warming are all working to supercharge the parasite’s spread.

We just filed a new case against the USDA to block their new grant terms and conditions. The new terms and conditions are an attempt to force organizations to push Trump's anti-diversity, anti-equity, anti-immigrant agenda.

Tyson and other meat corporations have a stranglehold on Americans’ dinner plates; but they don’t control the truth. Tyson said it was selling “climate-smart” beef under the label “Brazen Beef.” They got one thing right — it was brazen to call beef from a huge, industrial feedlot “climate-smart.”

FarmSTAND, Animal Outlook, and We Animals filed comments urging the Federal Aviation Administration not to restrict the use of drone photography to get footage of factory farms, data centers, and other sites. The public has a right to see how these facilities operate.

The industrial agriculture system forces slaughterhouse workers to work hours without providing the basic relief of bathroom breaks. Nearly everyone has stories of workers peeing on the line. 🧵 (1/4)

If we want clean water, we need to take on Big Ag. Nowhere illustrates this better than Iowa, where concerns about ag pollution, cancer, and water are taking center stage this election cycle. Insightful reporting out of Iowa by @ninaelkadi.com & @tomphilpott.bsky.social buff.ly/egKgxFx

Under the Trump Administration, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has stopped investigating disparate impact discrimination claims. Disparate impact refers to policies that have an unequal impact on members of protected classes.

Trump's new executive order intends to "advance regenerative agriculture." Here's why we're skeptical: thanks to Trump's staff purges and anti-climate science agenda, there is neither the staff nor the funding for these programs.

We just won back $127M for the next generation of farmers! The Increasing Land, Capital, and Market Access grants were illegally canceled as part of Trump's anti-DEI purge. Thanks to us and our allies, those grants will be restored to organizations helping build a fair and sustainable food system.

We're deeply disappointed in the Supreme Court's Temporary Protected Status decision. Not only will it jeopardize the lives of 1M+ people, it could destabilize the US economy, particularly in ag. We wrote about the relationship between Big Ag and TPS holders earlier this year ➡️ buff.ly/Y4URz54

🌡️As summer temperatures rise, so does the need to protect migrant farmworkers from deadly heat stress. Workers on H-2A visas face extreme heat with limited access to medical care, healthy food, and hydration.

The screwworm outbreak threatens the health of animals and the livelihoods of ranchers and food system workers. Factory farms are petri dishes for infection and disease. If this infestation reaches crowded industrial feedlots, the consequences could be severe.

Trump's USDA recently canceled millions of dollars of grants from the Land, Capital, and Market Access program, which funded projects to help farmers historically shut out of the system succeed.

The Land, Capital, and Market (LCM) Access grants were designed to help the next generation of farmers get the resources they need to build local food systems that benefit their communities. The Trump admin's decision to cancel those grants creates more barriers for young, underserved producers.

The USDA just delayed a rule that would make poultry farming more fair for contract growers. 1000s of comments were in favor of the rule and just a dozen from industry leaders were against. Once again, Trump's USDA has put profits over the needs of the people and small farmers are paying the price.

The administration made the industry-supported decision despite thousands of public comments in opposition.
