I feel like I can’t handle the pressure of research anymore. When my collaborator wasn’t making progress, I had to teach myself AQFT, string theory, SUSY, and so on. But once we came up with new ideas, I suddenly needed to learn TQFT, category theory, bordism, etc.

Many people have wondered why the Chien-Shiung Wu never won the Nobel Prize for Physics. New findings from the Nobel archives, exclusively revealed in Physics World, show she was nominated 23 times by 18 different physicists - and yet was still left empty-handed. 🧪⚛️ physicsworld.com/a/twenty-thr...

Twenty-three nominations, yet no Nobel prize: how Chien-Shiung Wu missed out on the top award in physics – Physics World

Timo Weigand’s lectures are so clear! I’ve finally understood things I missed while reading. It’s a magical feeling—vague but incredibly helpful. videos.cern.ch/record/3008647 Key takeaways: General forms of string vibration solutions Why closed strings involve gravity Why D-brane are necessary

Modern physics is a collection of brilliant "No-go" signposts: 🚫 Coleman-Mandula: Forbids non-trivial symmetry mixing (unless SUSY/CFT). 🚫 Weinberg-Witten: Restricts massless high-spin particles (hinting at Holography).

When I first studied QFT, the Coleman-Mandula theorem was often a footnote due to time constraints. Diving into AGMOO, I’ve finally realized its true beauty: CFT, SUSY, Quantum Groups, and QG can all be viewed as elegant relaxations of the CM constraints.

Today is my birthday. I don’t have any peers around to talk with, and I feel quite lonely. I’m reading the original edition of a book my professor gave me, with a kind of quiet reverence. I really like the old Beijing “qǐzi mó” 起子馍— it seems to be the local version of a scone.

I’ve lived in this noisy, miserable apartment for years. I never planted anything in the old flower pot left by a former tenant — yet after a month of rain, it bloomed on its own. I hope my research can blossom like that wildflower.
