I was fortunate to get to talk with @dornhaus.bsky.social , who is not just a world authority on ant behavior but also a subject in a fascinating experiment that compared teamwork capability in ants and humans. She had quite an inside view. For @opinion.bloomberg.com

A source at the NIH clinical center tells me that the freeze includes a freeze on procurement. This means that the center, which is a hospital, can’t can’t procure food or medical supplies for patients.

At about 30 minutes into this podcast @mtosterholm.bsky.social starts talking about a possible new epidemiology for H5N1 bird flu. He suspects transmission from "viral clouds" of dust mixed with bird droppings, moved around by the wind. Fascinating and important.
