Awooo-ooo! It's time for some Friday afternoon cartoons, with my acoustic cover of the DuckTales theme. It's a certified banger, and I'd love if you'd take a listen!

On of many ways I write is by mishearing things. Going "That's genius!", checking, realising that wasn't the wording at all, and then adopting the orphan phrase I'd misheard as my own. It's such a pretty thing, to have a note crammed full of mondegreens that now belong somewhere.
Last week I did an acoustic cover of Sledgehammer by @itspetergabriel.bsky.social, and I'd love for you to take a listen ⬇️

Really saddened by the news about Bill Oddie. He was a real one.
Given the heatwaves, I was reminded of this incredible song I covered a while back, and how the man himself said it was a great rendition of his song! One of the coolest and most surreal things that has ever happened to me.

Finally back to full health after horrible flu, and the song getting my stripped-back acoustic treatment this week is one of my absolute favourites.

I'd like to thank the brothers who made Homestar Runner for me never being able to read the phrase "thatched-roof cottages" without hearing it repeated in my head in a certain voice. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
The recent(ish) Noah Kahan album is absolutely a grower. I really enjoy his working-man-shacket-aesthetic.
"That was tense." She said after basically every scene of Slow Horses.
If you vaguely remember the National Treasure films fondly, don't rewatch them (they're actually full of awful, objectionable shit) instead watch Fountain of Youth. It's a fun romp with cool setpieces that tickles the Indiana Jones itch. And Natalie Portman's wardrobe is *chef's kiss*
When did Guy Ritchie become one of those guys whose name I see on the credits and go 'Oh, this is gonna be good then!'?
I finally saw Project Hail Mary and it was great. I don't usually trust the concensus, because people often like edgy, cynical tales where bad things happen to good people and we're all supposed to revel in the trauma porn. But it wasn't that at all. It was a lovely film. ...And what a soundtrack.
There have been a lot of weird, ill-advised choices in The Magic Faraway Tree so far, but having my wife turn up for THE LAST 20 MINUTES ONLY is the worst.
For a game where the minute-to-minute gameplay wasn't great and I had serious objections to some systemic design decisions, I sure think about Hell Is Us a lot.
Nobody told me Grey's Anatomy is ER with the romance turned up. Why didn't anyone tell me this?
Taylor Swift's Toy Story 5 anthem has been living rent-free in my mind since it dropped, so it HAD to be this week's cover. Would love if you'd take a listen 🧡 youtu.be/RYqdUPvuAAE

We don't usually see each others' headers, but here's mine. Quote post with yours (if you feel like it).

Once again, I find myself less interested in the reveals of the big Games Industry Business™ showcases, and super excited about loads and loads of little indie games.
RIP Tony Head. I don't have the words for this one, but Giles meant an awful lot to me. Rest well, mate.
Injured my hand this week and couldn't play, so here's one I prepared earlier... Would love if you'd take a listen 🧡

Having an unusual name, you don't often find it used in pop culture, but there she is/I am in Mum of War. The game looks great, but the name aspect is going to make it a very weird experience.
Happy Pride to all! (But big wave to the other bi couples who got married and *seem* heteronormative at first glance. Being invisible is such a weird feeling, but I see you! 👋🏻)
FINALLY recorded my acoustic cover of The Riddle by Nik Kershaw! Would love if you'd take a look 🧡

Literally just updated the FitBit app, after the worst night of sleep I've had in *years*, and the new app is like "You slept for seven hours and have a 'fair' sleep score!" which just makes me go "NOPE, BIG WRONG!" and want to kick it into the sea. Guess I'm looking for a new fitness tracker.
Really enjoyed The Archives of Trevosa, those kinds of games are entirely my jam.
Some pictures from our visit to Leeds Castle for the Queen's Joust.
I usually don't leave the house on bank holiday weekends (because... People) but my mother-in-law requested jousting for her birthday, and today was the day. Gentle reader I am now sunburnt, but thanks to ridiculously regular reapplication, only mildly so. Yay me. Also, the jousting was ace.
