Tuesday this week to Broken Top and No name lake! Just one half of the day, but it was filled with beautiful views! Yes, my lungs are still a little unsettled from adjusting to hard breathing at that high elevation! Yes, my thighs and butt are sore from the steep paths! But I feel alive and happy!

My grandson is playing in the blue. It is hot and sunny today. They are ahead 3-0

Well, I could not resist sending one more reason to visit Western Oregon and go on a nice long walk/ hike! Skinny dipping is ok too if you do not mind chilly water! There are plenty of hot springs for that as well! We say nude but not lewd here! For real!

We took our family of 14 to a VRBO in SunRiver Oregon near Bend for 5 days! It was very large and spacious with plenty of bedrooms and 4 bathrooms!

Heading out with two sons in law, and 6 grandchildren to Broken Top and No name lake! 1,600’ elevation gain from 6,800’ and a total of 5.8 miles round trip! Simply gorgeous!

Walking along the DesChutes River near Bend Oregon. It is the high desert area of our state! We will float this river tomorrow! Today it is simply a place of beauty and grace for walkers bikers and runners!

Banana producing bananas in Tigard, Oregon! This plant is 10+ years old. This is the first banana fruit stalk that it has produced! It is Musa basjoo the Japanese fiber banana. The fruit is reportedly inedible but it is very exciting to see it bloom! 🌱 #PNWGardening

Ah! We celebrated Josef Balla’s 90th birthday on Sunday! He was an amazing soccer coach in the 70s, 80s, and 90s! So this day several of his players came back to honor him on his 90th! Sweet! It was just after the World Cup final! He is Hungarian so I said Yure gelt! Their greeting! What a day!

Walked with my sister along the Tualatin River! It is slow, sluggish and perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. Here is the swing for jumping out into the river! We got 4.5 miles of walking in, then picked up my disabled brother to share a hearty Mexican lunch! 🌱 #PNWGardening

The Crinum seems made of cast iron! I barely water it, it is largely evergreen in our winters and it blooms profusely in the heat of summer! It does however take a lot of room as its foliage is big and bold! 🌱 #PNWGardening
