There is an important issue here that is not being discussed. Specifically, the immigration and nationality act itself - a law that was born of racism and continues to be fertile ground for its perpetuation. Invoking the call for securing our borders needs to acknowledge the law’s inherent nature.

ICE is not about immigration. ICE is not about the southern border. ICE is about normalizing paramilitary force on our streets. It cannot be reformed. It cannot be retrained. ICE must be abolished.
