I keep seeing this Gramsci quote about the old world dying and the new one struggling to be born and how This Is The Time Of Monsters. And it's great and all—it's very portentous and dramatic—but, like, we know this is ALL times, right? It's ALWAYS a time of monsters. We know that, right?

Look, I know 'We The People' is kind of a big deal phrase for Americans. But if you're putting You The People in the accusative position in a sentence, then it really needs be in the accusative case. "The government should serve Us The People", not "...should serve We The People".

I cannot read the terms 'dayslong', 'weekslong', 'monthslong' or 'yearslong' without my brain making them just different durations of slong. Sometimes they're in quite serious stories, but if American media want me to be able to really appreciate the gravity, they need to start hyphenating these.

I quote post because it's not a reply as such. I found Star Trek: Picard fairly up and down. Not in a TrekCulture 'Ups and Downs' kind of intelligent, analytical way—just that I kind of liked the first season; didn't really get engaged with the second season; really quite liked the third season.
